Title: How market makers make money?

    ➡️formularzhttps://goo.gl/forms/MpQSilRKhANSkMLI3

Short abstract: A market maker is a liquidity provider, typically a bank or brokerage company that quotes both a buy and a sell price in a financial instrument. The difference between the price he is willing to buy (the bid price) and sell (the ask price) is called the bid-ask spread and is the source of a profit for market maker. In the workshop we will discuss how market markers operate, what is their impact on a market and how do they manage their inventory so they can always quote buy and sell prices.

Requirements: Python 3.6 with the following packages: NumPy, SciPy, pandas, matplotlib, StatsModels and Jupyter. Free Python distribution (interpreter with necessary packages) is available to download from anaconda.com.

    Warsztaty odbędą się w sali 303 w łączniku A3-A4.

    Tytuł: Wielokrotne uzupełnianie brakujących danych.

    ➡️formularzhttps://goo.gl/forms/WtXtJfhFmlHfDGg13

Wymagania: Podstawy R, podstawy statystyki, zainstalowany R wraz z pakietami mice, VIM, BaylorEdPsych, plyr, dplyr, ggplot2.

Warsztaty odbędą się w sali 2.1 w budynku B7. Brak wolnych miejsc.

Title: How to trade large block of shares?

    ➡️formularzhttps://goo.gl/forms/m78vu09JLdeOrMNo2

Short abstract: One could expect that there is a part of the market price which is impacted by trades and there is no resilience for such a process. Here the concept of the permanent market impact arises. Is there an optimal strategy associated with buying or selling a large block of shares? We could imagine that the trader (or algo) executing fast pays high execution costs because liquidity is limited, but the slow execution exposes to possible adverse price fluctuations. Large orders are then split into smaller ones, that are executed progressively over a given time window according to the trade-off between the execution costs and the price risk. During the workshop we introduce the theoretical framework and the solution of the optimal execution schedule.  The theory will be supported by simple exercises in Python including modelling and simulation of the price with the market impact or finding the optimal trading curve.

Requirements: Python 3.6 with the following packages: NumPy, SciPy, pandas, matplotlib, StatsModels and Jupyter. Free Python distribution (interpreter with necessary packages) is available to download from anaconda.com

    Wymagania: MS Excel

Warsztaty odbędą się w sali 1.9 w budynku B7. Brak wolnych miejsc.
